My
friends, in today's
economic conditions one
needs to adapt. In my
case; it makes sense to
stop doing a "Full
Season" shop for a
couple of years, and
then re-open in a year
or 2 (conventionally) when the
economy recovers a bit.
So, being a bit on the
independent side, I am
going make time to take a
sabbatical and fulfill
some dreams.
For
example; I
went to Las Vegas then back to Pebble
Beach during this
past Christmas week. I had played
Pebble, Spyglass, Old
Del Monte, and Spanish
Bay in 2008. The
Monterey Peninsula is everything
they say it is.
Spectacular! Expensive
but well worth it! Later
this summer I plan on
going to Scotland, to
play St. Andrews "The
Old Course" and then off to
play Carnoustie. Leave
Scotland, then go to
Ireland and play the K Club, and Ballybunion
Old. If the money hasn't
run out I will head off
to England and play The
Belfry, and hopefully
some other courses .
My lease was up for
renewal, and I
decided not to renew it.
Why not take a break,
and be sure I get to do
a lot of things that are
on my "bucket list"
while I am still
relatively young, and
still have a lot of
energy. I do
plan to come up and
re-open somewhere
locally for at least
part of the 2010 season.
